This week we are featuring D’Arise Manzella! She is the owner of Mamacita Beadworks and makes stunning hand cast pewter pendants!
Here is the artist, in her own words:-)
“I am an independent artist with a home studio. I work from down deep in my sweet mama soul. I believe that if you love what you do, you wake up everyday in heaven. I feel so happy to create these artworks for you and I thank you for your time!
All my artwork has been designed and cast by my own two hands. I sculpt, mold, cast, grind and polish each piece. All my little beads and buttons are well loved. Due to the handcrafted nature of my work, there will be slight variations on each piece. That’s what I call the good stuff. The lovin’.
Many of my works have my fingerprints visible. I absolutely love the personal “touch” this gives my beads and buttons and intentionally leave them on.
My beads can be seen in action in the Spring 2009 issue of Stringing Magazine!
A heartfelt thanks to Heather Powers of HumbleBeads( humblebeads.etsy.com ), and Molly Schaller, designer extraordinaire, for using my work in their gorgeous creations.
Other features include:
~Beadstyle, March 2009 (again thank you Heather Powers for using my seaweed button in your design!)
~Premier issue of Stitch magazine, winter 2008
~Quiltmaker magazine, Jan/Feb 2008
~I had the honor of being interviewed by Lorelei Eurto of lorelei1141.etsy.com for the Art Bead Scene blog online. Read more here: http://artbeadscene.blogspot.com/2008/05/bead-scoop-mamacita-beadworks.html.
~I have been seen at the Art Bead Scene so many times it makes me giddy! It’s a great beading blog. Check it out here: artbeadscene.blogspot.com
The pewter I cast with is the finest quality lead free pewter,or jewelry grade pewter. If your pewter does tarnish over time, it is easily polished with a simple pewter polish available at most department stores. Of course all my work is made right here in the good good USA.”
We love all of D’Arise’s pieces and are now carrying them here on our website!
